
Ayrton Chilibeck is a young composer from Yellowknife, raised in Alberta and educated at UBC. He writes modern small ensemble and choral music.
Ayrton Chilibeck was raised in Red Deer attending Lindsay Thurber High School and joined the Red deer Royals, becoming concert master and directing the band in two of his own works. During the pandemic Mr. Chilibeck wrote a symphony for large orchestra and studied Physics and Mathematics at Red Deer College. He then applied to UBC Composition and was accepted, studying under Jennifer Butler.
Mr. Chilibeck plays the trumpet and the piano for his inspiration and is involved in studying Mathematics and Computer Science in the UBC Science departments. He avidly studies philosophy and has written essays concerning identity metaphysics.
